Homophobic, Racist, and Anti-Choice. What’s Going On In Florida?
First, it was the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Then, a 15-week abortion ban. Then, perhaps most ludicrously, the banning of more than 50 math books from public schools because of “Critical Race Theory.” All of these are recent efforts in the state of Florida, led by Governor Ron DeSantis. To top it all off, the governor just submitted heavily gerrymandered maps designed to ensure 4 additional Republican House seats in the next election.
Rising Up with Sonali is a radio and television show that brings progressive news coverage rooted in gender and racial justice to a wide audience. Rising Up With Sonali was built on the foundation of Sonali Kolhatkar's earlier show, Uprising, which became the longest-running drive-time radio show on KPFK in Los Angeles hosted by a woman.
