President Biden got quite a few accomplishments on his résumé while under COVID quarantine. First, Biden ordered and oversaw the killing of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, something his predecessor wouldn’t do because he didn’t recognize the name. And now, the Senate has passed the Inflation Reduction Act which will authorize spending to fight climate change, reform the tax code, and allow Medicare to negotiate the cost of prescription drugs. The bill has to pass the House of Representatives in its current form before it can be signed into law by Biden, but it’s already gotten past the tougher hurtle in the Senate so it’s highly likely to work out. Biden got quite a lot done in 2021 but his agenda largely stalled in 2022 until now. Hopefully, these accomplishments can help convince voters to cast their ballots for Democrats in the midterms so even more can get done.
