The police interrogation of pro-Trump rioter Danny Rodriguez from last March has now been released to the public. Rodriguez is accused of tasing a police officer during the January 6th Capitol riots.
The video contains Rodriguez breaking down and confessing to at least some of the crimes he is accused of. After being read his Miranda rights, the suspect appeared to recognize that he would be better off not answering the interrogators’ questions and requested an attorney instead. At one point, he slightly shook his head suggesting that he was not willing to share his story. But it didn’t take long for Rodriguez to waive his Fifth Amendment rights and start talking.
Danny said during the interview that Infowars and Alex Jones were what radicalized him and that he felt compelled to visit Washington DC on the day of the “Save America Rally” because he thought there was a call to action from Donald Trump. Rodriguez did appear to express remorse for his actions on that day but that probably won’t be enough to prevent him from serving time on these charges, especially since there is a video and a confession of him committing the act in question.
