Outgoing President Donald Trump has now gone about a month without taking any questions from reporters. Ever since his reelection loss, Trump has mostly disappeared from the public eye, only leaving the White House on the weekends to play golf at his Virginia resort. Last week, Trump held his second press briefing since the networks called the election. The presser was scheduled around an announcement from the Trump administration that they will be working to lower prescription drug prices. Trump was able to stick to the script for the most part, except for one moment when he referenced “the campaign, which I won by the way, but you know, we’ll find that out.”
There were a few other awkward moments during the press conference. At one point, Trump seemingly misspoke and said that he’s been loyal to special interests, which politicians never admit. Trump alleged that the vaccine announcement from Pfizer was held until after the election because pharmaceutical companies didn’t want him to win. Trump suggested that he might have won if the vaccine news was announced before November 3rd, which is strange since he simultaneously argues that he did win the election. Trump once again wrapped up the press briefing without taking any questions while reporters shouted out asking if he had any plans to concede the election to President-Elect Biden.
