Donald Trump’s lawyer John Eastman blocks 3,200 documents and 37,000 pages of emails from being turned over to the committee investigating the January 6th Capitol insurrection. Eastman claims that the documents are shielded by attorney-client privilege, and a federal judge is currently weighing the argument. Eastman is best known for a memo he wrote that detailed how Mike Pence would be able to overthrow the 2020 election by discounting electoral votes in states that went for Joe Biden. He has been trying to help Trump get away with alleged wrongdoing since the election overthrow plot failed. This is just the latest example of the Trump team being obstinate and trying to run out the clock on the January 6th investigation until Republicans likely take the House after the midterm elections.
