Voting rights activists in Pennsylvania are gearing up for the midterms this November. A recent state supreme court decision upholds mail-in voting in the battleground state, but Republican legislators have attempted to restrict access to the ballot.
The New Pennsylvania Project is one of the groups that is fighting hard to protect democracy and voting rights in the state, particularly for communities that are politically disenfranchised. Our guest today is the group’s founder and chief executive officer Kadida Kenner who also serves as co-chair of Why Courts Matter – Pennsylvania, an advocacy campaign seeking to protect the independence of state and federal courts.
