Ugo Vallauri is the co-founder of the Restart Project, an international organization advocating for the right of consumers to repair electronic equipment in order to prevent unnecessary waste. In this week's show, Ugo discusses the concept of "Planned Obsolescence" whereby electronic products are intentionally designed to become useless within a short time frame, which forces consumers to repeatedly buy replacement products and generates large quantities of waste in the process. The Restart Project aims to empower consumers with the ability to repair their products to extend their useful life and reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste.
