Republicans are not satisfied with the far-right Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade last month, and they’ve now moved on to trying to abolish same-sex marriage. Senator Ted Cruz said much on his podcast “Verdict,” claiming, “Obergefell [v. Hodges] ignored two centuries of our nation’s history. Marriage was always an issue that was left to the states. . . . I think that decision was wrong when it was decided. It was the court overreaching.” This same logic could be applied to interracial marriage.
