Millions of eligible American voters don’t vote in elections. Some are too busy to take an hour off work. Some don’t have the correct identification. Some are disenfranchised in nakedly partisan efforts.
Some simply feel their vote doesn’t count, so why bother?
Sadly, low voter turnout is actually a feature of American democracy, not a flaw. Writing about it in his latest book is progressive radio journalist and best-selling author Thom Hartmann.
