Transgender rights are under attack. A record number of anti-trans bills have been introduced in 33 statehouses. Several states have already passed laws preventing trans athletes from participating in school sports, and Arkansas has become the first state in the country to ban doctors from providing gender-affirming medical treatment for trans youth.
Other states are considering similar legislation. As the mother of a trans child, this hits hard. I know personally how devastating and dangerous this is.
These attacks are coming at a time when we are witnessing a rise in violence against trans people, particularly against transgender women of color.
President Joe Biden says he supports all transgender Americans, as do we at Free Speech TV. Polls show that two-thirds of Americans are against laws that limit transgender rights, so we cannot stay silent as these bills sow the seeds of fear and hatred. The stakes are too high.
