The troubles continue for MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, with his bank now closing his accounts over concerns of reputational damage. Lindell went on Steve Bannon’s podcast last week and said he was asked by his bank, Heartland Financial, to close his accounts within 30 days.

According to the MyPillow CEO, he refused the bank’s request and made them close the accounts for him: “I said, 'I am not being part of this. I'm not leaving. So you're going to have to throw me out of your bank.’” Some conservatives are angered by this decision, but really they shouldn’t be.

The right-wing has a long track record of saying that private businesses should be able to serve and not serve whomever they want. This was the argument used in the gay wedding case out of Colorado a few years back. But now that Lindell is having issues, these same right-wingers flip on a dime and want to force his financial institution to do business with him.
