Congressman Matt Gaetz interviewed liar Congressman George Santos on Real America’s Voice this week and did his best to rehabilitate Santos’s image. Among the wackiest takeaways was Santos claiming that he’s lived an “honest life” and has “never been accused of any bad doing.” During the interview, Santos acted as if he hasn’t already admitted to embellishing his résumé. Matt Gaetz, for his part, did his best to make Santos look good by saying other people in Congress have also been untruthful about their qualifications. Santos also avoided answering where his campaign funding came from, and instead just said it didn't come from Ukraine, Russia, China, or Burisma. Plenty of Republican lawmakers have distanced themselves from Santos and some have asked him to step down. But apparently, Matt Gaetz is perfectly fine leading the charge to allow him to stay in power.
