Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was a no-show at a scheduled court appearance in Fulton County, Georgia that was part of an investigation into alleged lawbreaking by Donald Trump and his cohorts when trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Previously, Graham tried to fight the subpoena, arguing that his 2020 inquiries with Georgia state election officials were part of his job responsibilities as a United States Senator. This explanation never made sense, however, since Graham represents South Carolina and not Georgia. A judge ruled that Lindsey had to testify as part of the probe, which he has now skipped out on. Graham's attorneys have said he doesn't have to participate since District Attorney Fani Willis' probe is “politically motivated.” Of course, the efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia were also politically motivated and the claim doesn't speak to whether any crimes were potentially broken.
