Jecorey Arthur is a musician, activist, educator, and is now the youngest person elected to Louisville’s Metro Council. Representing District 4, which is a predominantly Black community in Louisville, he is fighting against systemic oppression faced by residents in this area. After Breonna Taylor was killed March 13, 2020, Jecorey led protests and healing spaces across the city. Here, he talks about the history and deep rooted poverty issues in the West End of Louisville and his hopes for the future.
