How A Nonprofit Bail Fund Is Taking On Racism in Criminal Justice
A new rightwing strategy to undo progress on discrimination in the criminal justice system is taking aim at non-profit bail funds. After a victim of a gunshot wound successfully sued a bail fund for helping free his shooter, The Bail Project was forced to shut down one of its chapters. Now, right-wing groups are going after similar projects, including the Minnesota Freedom Fund.
