A new report from the World Health Organization warns that "the burning of fossil fuels is killing us." Environmental advocacy groups like Build Back Fossil Free are calling on President Biden to declare a climate emergency and take executive actions to address the crisis. 

These include banning new federal fossil fuel leases and ending subsidies for the industry. 

They are calling for BIPOC communities disproportionately harmed by the climate crisis and fossil fuel extraction to be protected and investments made in green, sustainable energy. 

Republicans and some Democrats, beholden to big oil, continue to obstruct legislation. President Biden can move forward, but he needs to hear from Americans who support a green agenda.
