Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz is in a world of trouble related to a child sex trafficking and prostitution scandal that could result in him getting kicked out of Congress and perhaps even going to prison. Now there is first-hand evidence that Gaetz paid for sex with a 17-year-old girl. Joel Greenberg, the Florida tax collector who is a major player in the investigation, wrote in a letter obtained by the Daily Beast that he and Gaetz engaged in these shady practices together. The letter was drafted after Greenberg asked Roger Stone, a close ally of former President Trump, for help obtaining a pardon during the final months of Trump’s term. Greenberg wrote in the letter in reference to the minor, “On more than one occasion, this individual was involved in sexual activities with several of the other girls, the congressman from Florida’s 1st Congressional District and myself.”

In the letter, Greenberg  went on to explain how he and the congressman allegedly paid for sex with the minors: “From time to time, gas money or gifts, rent or partial tuition payments were made to several of these girls, including the individual who was not yet 18. I did see the acts occur firsthand and Venmo transactions, Cash App or other payments were made to these girls on behalf of the Congressman.” Gaetz could face some serious charges for this alleged criminality and yet he is still going around acting with impunity. The congressman sometimes will show up at speaking events and claim that this scandal is just the latest left-wing attempt to cancel him. Several weeks ago, Gaetz managed to essentially self-incriminate by denying things on Tucker Carlson that weren’t even alleged of him at the time. There is still some chance that Gaetz survives this scandal, but once the full details come out, it sounds like even the vast majority of Republicans won’t be able to stick by him.
