Does the Justice System Coddle White Privilege?

Mark Tulley, executive director of Agents for Advocacy, dissects the selective biases we ignore when reporting on crimes allegedly committed by blacks versus whites. Tulley highlights how both the media and justice systems consistently paint black people as monstrous individuals deserving of a lack of empathy from the world. In contrast, whiteness is often portrayed and shaped into a more pure, sympathetic creature regardless of the horrendous actions that have placed them there.

Feminism Today with Dr. Sophia N. Johnson is a 30-minute weekly public affairs series which features rich and nuanced conversations with remarkable women and men, as seen in the creative ways they advocate for women’s rights.
