Tucker Carlson had fighter pilot and Marine Corps Lt. Col. Scott Duncan on his program last week to talk about his effort to file a religious exemption to the military’s COVID vaccine mandate. Duncan said that it was important for the armed forces to conduct a cost/benefit analysis as to the risk of losing experienced servicemembers who object to the vaccine if indeed the requirement is allowed to stand up.

He said, “we do disagree with the pedigree and the technology maturation over time. That’s one issue. The other is just a conviction from the Holy Spirit and I believe we are led in that fashion.” What makes zero sense about this argument is that members of the military are already required to take a number of other vaccines, including anthrax, smallpox, flu, typhoid, yellow fever, and so many other diseases. If those other immunizations supposedly didn’t violate Duncan’s religion, he has no reasonable case to assert that the COVID vaccine does.
