Disney sues Ron DeSantis for his crusade to destroy them

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis is facing a new lawsuit from the Walt Disney Company, alleging that he has waged a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power over the company.” The feud between DeSantis, who is expected to become a top Republican contender in the 2024 presidential race, and the entertainment megacorporation Disney has escalated dramatically. The lawsuit was filed on the same day that a US-backed board moved to undo a development deal that it says Disney struck to thwart its power. DeSantis has been accused of using government power against Walt Disney World as a retaliatory action for the company's stance against the “Don't Say Gay” bill. This has led some to question whether the chaos in Florida will become a distraction and impediment to DeSantis's potential presidential campaign. It is unclear how the lawsuit will play out, but it has the potential to backfire on DeSantis since he seems to have legally overstepped his boundaries.
