During the interview with guest host Trey Gowdy, DeSantis fell into a repetitive talking point coma, incessantly using the term “woke” and even delving into an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory. Critics argue that DeSantis's invocation of “cultural Marxism” is nothing more than a far-right conspiracy theory associated with thinly veiled anti-Semitism, as it misrepresents actual Marxism and focuses on cultural and social issues that Marxism does not prioritize. When DeSantis was asked about how he differs from former President Trump, he failed to provide a clear answer and instead highlighted policy successes in Florida and his overwhelming reelection victory. Overall, DeSantis's interview raised questions about his ability to sway MAGA voters away from Trump and left many skeptical about his nascent presidential campaign.
