A new Quinnipiac University poll found that Joe Biden has a 33% job approval rating. This is a disastrous number for the president, and it comes from a reputable polling organization. In contrast, 54% said they disapproved of Biden, and 13% offered no opinion. This is a tie for the Quinnipiac low point for the president, with January 12th also delivering a 33% number. Part of what is contributing to Biden’s low numbers is that only 39% of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of the response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The RealClearPolitics average aggregates recent polls, is more optimistic for Biden, at 40%. However, this is a long way down from the mid-50s approval the president enjoyed during the early part of his presidency. Biden’s current approval rating in the RCP average is approximately where Trump’s was during the ex-POTUS’s administration. Things will have to turn around soon for Biden if the Democrats will have a chance at holding onto the House and Senate in November.
