President Joe Biden says he is deeply disappointed by the recent federal court ruling against DACA, the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals program enacted under the Obama administration. Biden has vowed to appeal the ruling by Judge Andrew Hanen, a federal judge known for harboring anti-immigrant views. Hanen’s ruling now prevents new applicants from accessing DACA but preserves, for now, those who are already enrolled.
Fatime Flores-Lagunas is the political director for Humane Immigrants Rights of Los Angeles. She also is a DACA holder.
