Will the Senate Pass an Infrastructure Bill?

Sonali Kolhatkar speaks with Mary Grant, the Public Water For All Campaign Director at Food and Water Watch

Senators in a bi-partisan group and the White House failed to meet a Monday deadline on agreement over a nearly $1 trillion infrastructure bill that President Joe Biden has thrown his weight behind. AP reports that, “they hit serious roadblocks over how much would be spent on public transit and water infrastructure and whether the new spending on roads, bridges, broadband and other projects would be required to meet federal wage requirements for workers. They’re also at odds over drawing on COVID-19 funds to help pay for it.” Still, Biden and the Senators working on the deal are painting a rosy picture to the public saying they are confident it will pass. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump waded into the debate with his usual name-calling approach, chiding Republicans for working with Democrats, even though the GOP has been responsible for massively watering down the bill.
