Tulsi Gabbard, former Hawaii Congresswoman, and 2020 presidential candidate will be speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida this weekend. CPAC is a who’s who of right-wing politicians and media personalities, so on the surface, it doesn’t make sense why a Democrat like Tulsi would be speaking at the event. The event’s promotion of her doesn’t even mention that she served in and remains a member of the Democratic Party.
During the 2020 presidential primaries, many who supported Gabbard’s campaign believed her to be even further to the left of candidates like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Over the past couple of years, Tulsi has found a home in the right-wing, making frequent appearances on Fox News and joining conservative social media platforms. Now with this CPAC appearance, it appears as though Gabbard’s grift is complete and her purpose now is to placate a right-wing audience.
