Trump's Accountant Bails, Says Financial Statements Can't Be Trusted

The accounting firm that has represented Donald Trump for a decade is now saying nobody can trust the financial records the Trump Organization is putting out. The firm, Mazars USA, has abandoned Trump and announced it will no longer be representing Trump’s business. Mazars’ general counsel William J. Kelly wrote a letter to the Trump Organization that read, “We write to advise that the Statements of Financial Condition for Donald J.

Trump for the years ending June 30, 2011 — June 30, 2020, should no longer be relied upon and you should inform any recipients thereof who are currently relying upon one or more of those documents that those documents should not be relied upon.” This is a clever way for the accounting firm to recognize shady business practices being done by its client and to try to no longer have anything to do with it. This move bolsters the theory that Trump and his workers inflated the price of assets when trying to portray credit worthiness and deflated the price of assets when it was time to pay taxes.
