Donald Trump has been very upset with Anthony Fauci over Fauci’s recent 60 Minutes appearance. White House correspondents like Jeff Mason have reported on Twitter that the President “says people are tired of hearing from him and ‘all these idiots’ [about COIVD].” ABC’s Will Steakin said that Trump “muses about firing him if it weren’t for the negative press if he did.” Fauci’s approval ratings, particularly on handling the coronavirus, are far ahead of Trump’s. The public would not be receptive to a Fauci firing and Biden could make it a campaign promise to re-hire him.

Kaitlan Collins of CNN said on Twitter, “Trump says people are tired of hearing about coronavirus.” That much is true, that the public is fatigued by restrictions, but they are even more fatigued with this president who won't get the basic things right so we can make progress. People are tired of this president’s lies on coronavirus and that includes everything from saying masks don’t work to theorizing that injecting disinfectant could wipe out the virus. Hopefully, there will be new science-based leadership in January and the gag order will be lifted off of Anthony Fauci.
