In a rage-filled tweet storm, Trump made the usual posts about the election being rigged and about how he actually won, but he also went a step further. Trump quoted a fan of his at a Georgia rally as reported by one of his favorite news networks, OANN. The quote was, “This is going to escalate dramatically. This is a very dangerous moment in our history. The fact that our Country is being stolen.” Trump is trying to encourage dramatic and potentially violent action while hiding behind the statement being a quote from someone else. It’s indeed Trump who is encouraging violence and this could launch the type of stochastic terror incident we’ve been warning about.
Trump continued his attacks on Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp, writing “His poll numbers have dropped like a rock. He is finished as governor!” Then, Trump called on the Supreme Court to steal the election for him, saying, “The Supreme Court has a chance to save our Country from the greatest Election abuse in the history of the United States.” Most of these tweets were flagged by Twitter as misleading or disputed. This could all get ugly very quickly and it’s unclear what Trump supporters will be willing to do when they see Joe Biden being sworn in on Inauguration Day.
