Donald Trump took to Truth Social this week, where he re-truthed user a weaponized screen from user “FreeTX1776,” which went as follows: “Then they will have to figure out how to fight 80,000,000 + it’s not going to happen again. People my age and old will physically fight for him this time. What we got to lose ? I’ll donate the rest of my time here on this planet to do it. And I know many many others who feel the same. They got my 6 and we Are Locked and LOADED.” This is concerning and unacceptable. Such rhetoric goes against the very principles of democracy and the peaceful transfer of power that the United States stands for. This type of language only serves to stoke division and incite violence. Political leaders have a responsibility to use their platform to promote unity and peaceful resolution of conflicts, not to encourage violent action. Such statements have no place in the public discourse and should be condemned by all those who believe in a democratic and peaceful society.
