Donald Trump railed against Mike Pence during an interview on the show “Outside the Beltway” on Real America’s Voice. The former president was asked about the possibility that Pence runs against him for president in 2024. Trump said, “well I’m very disappointed in Mike as a lot of people are. . . . all he had to do was send it back to the legislatures.” Of course, Pence didn’t have the authority to do what Trump wanted him to do on January 6, 2021. Even if he did, Pence was right to stand up to the political pressure he was facing, as caving would have meant the end of democracy in the United States. This divide about voter fraud in the American right persists and it’s a major issue for the GOP primaries, like in tonight’s gubernatorial race in Georgia. Pence endorsed and is actively campaigning for Georgia Governor Brian Kemp in his reelection and Trump doesn’t like Kemp since he refused to decertify his state’s 2020 presidential election results. Trump has endorsed David Perdue, who is expected to lose by a large margin in tonight’s match up. If indeed Perdue loses, it could be yet another sign that these bogus voter fraud claims are not doing Trump any favors.
