Some of the latest Trump associates to get wrapped up in the January 6th investigation are attorneys Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, and Boris Epshteyn. All four have been subpoenaed by the congressional committee which will force them to hand over documents and possibly participate in interviews. It’s unclear whether any of them will comply with the demands, and if they don’t, they open themselves up to possible charges for contempt of Congress.
The committee tweeted about the decision, “the four individuals advanced unsupported theories about election fraud, pushed efforts to overturn election results, or were in direct contact with the former President.”
The Giuliani subpoena relates to the then-president’s state of mind when he was on a campaign to reverse the election results along with the claims the former New York City mayor made on television and in court. By now, the investigation has reached just about every major player pushing the “big lie” narrative that resulted in the events of January 6, 2021.
