Donald Trump went on Truth Social over the long weekend to complain about the possibility that he gets charged as a result of the congressional January 6th hearings. Trump seems to not understand that it’s not the committee itself that would be prosecuting him, but rather Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Biden Justice Department if they ever decide to. Trump posted, “Warmongering and despicable human being C, who is hated by the great people of Wyoming (down 35!), keeps saying, over and over again, that HER Fake Unselect Committee may recommend CRIMINAL CHARGES against a President of the United States who got more votes than any sitting President in history. Even the Dems didn’t know what she was talking about! Why doesn’t she press charges instead against those that cheated on the Election, or those that didn’t properly protect the Capitol?” The former president must be deeply concerned about the possibility that he faces consequences for his role in the insurrection, even though many of us have given up hope that he actually will.
