Trump Aide Attacks Biden for Not Having COVID

Trump campaign press communications director Erin Perrine went on Fox News towards the end of Donald Trump’s hospital stay for coronavirus and made some outrageous comments. Perrine tried to market Trump contracting COVID-19 as a positive, saying he has “first-hand experience” with the virus and therefore is better positioned to battle the pandemic at large. She went further by saying that Joe Biden doesn’t have that first-hand experience, inferring that Biden wouldn’t be able to effectively manage against the disease because he hasn’t gotten it himself.

Ever since news broke of Donald Trump testing positive for COVID-19, we have been wondering how the Trump campaign would try to frame it. We suspected that they would say the President was brave, fought the virus head-on, and defeated it because it was no match for him. There has certainly been lots of that. But arguing that this is somehow a benefit to Trump, while a disadvantage for Biden, is so dumb that it doesn’t even need a rebuttal. This is the idiotic message the Trump campaign is delivering with less than a month to go before the election.
