Donald Trump was asked by CBS’s Weijia Jiang about the explosion in coronavirus cases and he appeared to have a brain malfunction. Rather than address the surging number of cases and increasing positivity rates in places like Florida, Trump reverted to his factory settings and blamed Obama. He said, “Biden and Obama stopped their testing, they just stopped it. You probably know that. I'm sure you don't want to report it, but they stopped testing right in the middle.” Trump went on to ramble about the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 (or as he calls it, 1917).

What exactly is Donald Trump talking about here? Is he saying that Obama and Biden stopped coronavirus testing? They left office three years before the pandemic began. Could Trump be talking about Ebola or H1N1 which didn’t lead to nearly as many deaths as coronavirus and didn’t cause massive shutdowns? The important point is that this is a total red herring. Trump has failed miserably at his coronavirus response and all he can do now is complain and blame Obama.
