The proliferation of misinformation, fake news, propaganda, click-bait, and other contaminants of our information sphere is a central issue on our political and cultural landscape. There is so much false information on the internet that it is hard to tell fact from fiction, so much so that many Americans have simply lost trust in news sources, believing everything to be a matter of opinion.
Cindy Otis, a cybersecurity expert who regularly speaks and writes about political and national security issues for various media outlets and a former CIA analyst. Her new book is called True or False: A CIA Analyst’s Guide to Spotting Fake News.
