Friends, the people have spoken. They cast their ballots, and with patience, demanded the results be respected. Yes, a few more ballots remain to be counted, and in some cases, recounted. Legal challenges remain before the courts. It may be premature to declare a victor in every race, but this much is clear: America is pulling our democracy back from the brink. Today’s winners are the voters, who surmounted so many challenges. Those thin margins of victory speak to how essential every single vote has been. Today’s winners are the organizers who tirelessly knocked on doors and called Americans to their civic duty. We are grateful for those on the frontlines--especially our organizers of color and those in rural America. Today, democracy is winning, and our work is far from done. Progressives will soon bring forward a bold intersectional agenda for healthcare, economic opportunity, racial justice, peace at home and abroad, and a sustainable planet. We will be called upon to raise our voices again to demand systemic change. Free Speech TV is eager for that call, and I know you are too. But first, let’s get through December’s Electoral College and January’s run-off elections in Georgia. For now, our demands remain the same: Count every vote. Respect the results. Preserve our democracy. Taking stock of what we’ve just accomplished, let's all find some time to dance, sing, laugh and love. Let’s give thanks to all who supported us through those dark days or whose futures inspired us to fight. Brighter days are ahead. Thank you.
