The Real Reason Why The Vaccine Rollout Is So Slow

Sonali Kolhatkar speaks with Dean Baker about the vaccie rollout.

The United States has currently vaccinated just over 25 million people, out of 325 million, against the COVID-19 virus. Vaccines, which were sold as a panacea by the previous administration, have not been produced and distributed as fast as people had hoped. Although the timeframe of development, testing, and approval was lightning fast, now, various reasons have slowed down the deployment of the shots in a country that in previous years was been able to dispense 2 million flu shots a day. Why is the rollout of vaccines so slow?
