The Moral March on Washington

Right now there are 140 million poor and low-income Americans who are struggling to make ends meet. They’re one economic crisis away from financial ruin. That’s almost half of our population. They’re our friends, our neighbors, our family members…they’re us. President Biden’s ‘Build Back Better Act,’ had a goal of cutting poverty and raising living standards. But the legislation has stalled in the Senate. Thousands of people are marching on Washington DC on June 18 to demand Congressional action on growing inequality and rampant voter suppression which denies so many people the opportunity to have their voices heard. The March, organized by the Poor People’s Campaign, is a declaration of the power of all of us - poor and low-wealth people and moral allies.
