Texas Senator Ted Cruz is trying his best to recover his reputation after calling those who attacked cops on January 6, 2021 “terrorists” and having to go on Tucker Carlson’s program to apologize. Cruz questioned an official from the Department of Justice about a person of interest named Ray Epps.

Conspiracy theorists like Tucker Carlson have been focusing on Epps recently, believing that he was an FBI insider and was involved in convincing Trump supporters to storm the Capitol that day. Cruz asked a number of questions at the hearing that could not be answered due to confidentiality and the whole thing was a charade to make this theory sound plausible.
