A Republican governor has been abandoned Donald Trump on coronavirus, and has seen his popularity soar. Rather than follow Trump, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has, in most cases, been listening to health experts to guide his response to the coronavirus.
DeWine shut down the state before Trump and other Republican governors were taking the virus seriously, and he has done daily briefings based on facts and data. It has translated into an 89% approval rating on his handling of the virus.
