Reaction to JK Rowling's Transphobic Remarks

JK Rowling is under fire for scoffing at a headline which included the phrase "people who menstruate." In response to the headline, Rowling wrote on Twitter, "‘people who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?"

Trans activists have called out Rowling for dismissing trans men or non-binary individuals who may also menstruate. Rowling doubled down, tweeting "it isn’t hate to speak the truth."

Actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Eddie Redmayne, spoke out against Rowling's comments.
