Christian Council, a realtor from Oklahoma City was beaten by two attackers. Council said he honked to signal to a car to get out of the way so he could pass. The attackers approached his car and started beating him and yelling homophobic slurs. Amery Dickerson, 23, and Bennett Stone, 24 were taken into custody following the incident, but not charged with a hate crime. “It definitely feels and felt like a hate crime,” Council said. “If that wasn’t your motivation behind it, why scream the gay slurs at me while you’re beating me?"
