Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, suggested during a recent interview that there’s going to be a lot of flipping by Trump’s allies so people who are implicated in the investigations into him will be able to avoid prison time. One such example could be Allen Weisselberg, the former Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who agreed to cooperate with New York investigators in exchange for a short jail sentence. In addition to the New York probe, Trump also has the Georgia investigation, January 6th liability, and the classified documents scandal to worry about. All of these potentially criminal actions likely had accomplices, many of whom will be quick to spill the beans on Trump if it means they don’t have to be locked up behind bars. Michael Cohen knows about the possibility of people flipping firsthand, since he did it himself when continuing to defend Trump became untenable.
