Insurance Companies' Emergency Room Scam

Wendell Potter joins Thom Hartmann to discuss how the insurance industry has made a lot more money by putting us into high deductibles. He explains the scam that they are trying to get away with: retroactively charging for emergency room visits if they deem the visit wasn't for an "emergency." These policies have disproportionately affected communities of color, particularly black women.

Wendell Potter is a Former health insurance executive / President-Center for Health and Democracy / President, Business Leaders for Health Care Transformation / Founder of Tarbell / Author of Deadly Spin and Nation on the Take.
