We are in a new era of politics and a new generation of political organizing. We’ve seen record numbers of people turn out in the last election despite ongoing efforts to disenfranchise voters and stop them from exercising their democratic rights. But attacks on voters continue. Right now, 28 states are considering laws that would restrict voting access. From placing limits on mail-in ballots to expanding voter ID requirements. Arizona is even considering a bill that would allow state lawmakers to overturn presidential election results. This is happening while Congress is considering key voting rights legislation. We must remain vigilant and urge our elected officials to protect our democracy. Groups like the Movement Voter Project are raising the alarm and fighting back.
