We have watched the trial for the murder of George Floyd take place in Minneapolis. We’ve heard eyewitness accounts of a modern-day lynching that took place over nine minutes and 29 seconds. Hearing these testimonies is re-traumatizing for many of us who know the reality of being Black in America. We demand change. We need transformative policies that address the root causes that have led to so many Black Americans dying at the hands of police.
