Fox News hosts and guests appeared traumatized by seeing the red wave they predicted to turn into a red puddle on election night. Brian Kilmeade said, “I don’t know about you guys, I’m shocked there was no red wave. If you think about inflation — a 40-year high, crime the worst since the 1980s, the unpopular president with an agenda that’s more green-oriented than people-oriented.” Kilmeade is wrong about crime being at its highest since the 80s, and Biden being unpopular since a 45% approval rating isn’t bad. But more importantly, this goes to show that these Fox personalities are out of touch with the American public. While economic issues were a factor in the election, so were topics like abortion and protecting democracy. The fact there was no red wave was largely a result of the right blundering it away with the authoritarian actions they have taken over the past two years.
