BREAKING: Prosecutors Believe They Have Evidence to Charge Trump

Federal prosecutors believe they have enough evidence to charge Donald Trump for his transfer and concealment of classified documents to Mar-a-Lago. A group of attorneys within the Justice Department believe they’ve met the burden of proof to charge the former president with obstruction of justice. The team has not yet made a formal recommendation to Attorney General Merrick Garland and there are still quite a few steps before Trump would be put through the criminal justice system. There is debate at the Justice Department over whether they should bring any charges at all if they believe obstruction of justice is the only alleged crime they can get him on. There is also debate over the timing since we’re close to the midterm elections and the start of the 2024 primary season, and an argument over whether it’s appropriate to charge a former president for anything whatsoever. Hopefully, these secondary and tertiary considerations are put aside and Trump is charged if they believe there is enough evidence to prove to a jury that he committed a crime.
