As the United States remains on high alert over the coronavirus pandemic, isolated cases of the Bubonic Plague have prompted many to ask, how much worse can 2020 get?
Although scientists are assuring a jittery population that the plague is not of concern and has been controlled for many decades, there was a time more than a hundred years ago when fears over the spread of the so-called “Black Death” consumed the US.
