Bernie Sanders surges to first place in early primary states Iowa and New Hampshire, according to a recent poll by RealClearPolitics.

In Iowa, Sanders leads Pete Buttigieg by a narrow .3 points, and Joe Biden by 1.7 points. In New Hampshire, Sanders holds a more convincing 4 point lead over Biden.

Biden still leads nationally and in the next primary voting states: Nevada and South Carolina.
